A concert in aid of BURMA

Young professional musicians have come together to raise funds for Burma Campaign UK with pieces by: Mozart, Rossini, Puccini, Britten, John Rutter, Saint-Saens and Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

“Stars for Burma” will encompass a wide variety of classical musical talent including performers who have graced the stages of The Proms, The Royal Variety Show, West-End Musicals (including Love Never Dies, Woman in White and Starlight Express), Royal Opera House and Albert Hall.

Tickets are available at £30, £50 and £95 for premium seats.

The Trustees of The Sasana Ramsi Vihara have a great pleasure of inviting you, your family and friends to join in and celebrate in the most sacred occasion of Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony on Sunday 23 October 2011.

The programme will commence at 10.00 am. The offering of luncheon to the invited Sanghas will be at 11.00 until 12 noon. This will be followed by serving food to the laity. The Kathina Ceremony will commence in the afternoon and the programme will finish by 2:30 pm.

As part of the ceremony, there will be an opportunity to decorate a well-wishing Padetha Tree. Therefore, you are invited to bring articles such as robes, money and other offerings for the Bhikkhus.

Please join us, in one of the most scared days in Buddhist’ calendar, by participating in this ceremony of receiving Buddha’s teaching, the blessings from the Bhikkhus for all your donations and above all to share the merits of the day's good deed with your loved ones.

What is 4G?

International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) defines 4G as a connection capable of 100Mbps with high mobility (wherever you go) and up to 1Gbps with low mobility (Wi-Fi range). (3G speeds jumped around in the 500kbps to the 2Mbps range)
