Meeting: UK Parliament Talk

Dear All

We would like to invite you to our “UK Parliament Talk” meeting on 1st September 2010. It is a very good opportunity to hear the history of Parliament and UK Political Parties system. This meeting is organized by Burma Campaign UK and the speaker will be Jack Speyer.

Jack Speyer OBE is a Burma Campaign UK volunteer who has a back ground of Political Activity as a Liberal Democrat. He was Chair of Liberal International (British Group) for many years; served on the Liberal Democrat Foreign Affairs Panel and Represented the Liberal Democrats at International Conferences. His interest in Burma goes back to his time as Chair of the Liberal International when he organized a "Petition on human rights abuses in Burma" that was delivered to the Burma Embassy Signed by many Liberals around the country. He retains personal contact with some Liberal Democrat MP’s and worked with them on Foreign Affairs Policy issues. As a Liberal Democrat he will also give his views on the current Conservative-Liberal Democrat Coalition Government which is the first coalition government experienced in UK in modern times

If you would like to get more knowledge about Parliament and would like to learn about how political parties are working in UK, please feel free to join the meeting.
